Wedding Wednesday: Honeymoon

I always loved the idea of Wedding Wednesday when other bloggers did it, and today is our 10 month engagement anniversary, meaning we are in the final countdown to the wedding, so I figured now was the best time to join in! M and I quickly learned we had very different expectations of a honeymoon. I envisioned myself relaxing on a beach with a drink in hand. M, on the other hand, saw himself adventuring and hiking. Now, don't get me wrong, I usually love this stuff. But after the chaos of wedding planning I needed something that did not require planning. Our compromise? Costa Rica!

We are staying eight days at the all-inclusive Hilton in Guanacaste (thanks to Cheap Caribbean which has great deals). We have big plans for doing a whole lot of nothing a few days, adventuring a few others, couples massages, snorkeling, eating too much, and so much more. We decided to go in August (a little over a month after our wedding) so we would both get paid time off. We also created a honeymoon registry which has been awesome- it is going to allow us to do things that are not included in our stay! I would highly recommend doing this if you have a wedding coming up! I'm ready to start counting down the days! Where did you go or plan on going for your honeymoon?

  1. We stayed at an all inclusive resort in Jamaica. We went 10 months after we got married since Dave deployed right away. We spent a week of his R&R in Jamaica just us. It was wonderful to get away and have quality time together and be able to relax with no worries after 8 months apart.

    1. I cannot imagine having to be separated right after the wedding! It's amazing how much stronger distance can make you though. I've heard Jamaica is gorgeous! I'm really excited about the all-inclusive part!
