Making a House Feel like Home with Prints

My husband is a photographer, so we have plenty of photos around our house. As we have slowly been putting together our home over the past year, I have realized that JUST having photos everywhere can be somewhat boring. Am I right? Luckily, I have found the perfect solution. PRINTS.

I have an obsession with prints lately. All kinds of prints. Bible verses, geometric designs, maps, you name it. I want all the prints. They're just so versatile and have this way of adding spruce to a space. So when I set out to find some new printable prints for a few places in our home (because who has time to wait for them to come in the mail?!) I was ELATED to find Melinda Wood Designs via Etsy. I am an avid Esty stalker, so it was only a matter of time until I found her.

Melinda is a wife and mother to a baby boy. She calls Southern California home and credits living there for much of her tribal and southwestern themed prints. Melinda has a newly discovered love for black and white minimalist geometric patterns and shapes, which is clear in her shop's current selection of prints! I was particularly attracted to her shop's fun bible verse prints. Melinda, like myself, finds great importance in bringing biblical inspiration into the home and these prints are such a unique way of doing so.

I absolutely HAD to have the Black Aztec Bear Print, the Consider it Pure Joy Print, and the Psalm 42 Antler Print. My favorite thing about her prints is that you have plenty of options for sizes so you can choose the size that best fits your needs!

I have really been working on trying to spruce up our bedroom since we got our new bedroom set and I was in desperate need of some art. I styled the Aztec Bear and Psalm 42 prints in and they worked PERFECTLY for our space. I used two of my grandmother's old wooden frames and they could not have been a better choice.

We also have this awkward side table in our living room that I have been trying to add a little something to. We couldn't have anything too large in the space because then it blocked the view of the living room from the kitchen. Also, our cats are constantly walking across it so anything fragile was not an option. The Consider it Pure Joy print worked so well for this space. I used one of my great-grandmother's old gold frames for the print. Then I added a burlap place-mat (courtesy of Cassie) and a candle. And just like that the table went from dire to cheery and it really adds something to our living space.

  1. I need to put some of those up in our house. I had one print made with our dogs' names on it for my husband as a gift, but other than that, it's only photos or paintings. That gold frame is super pretty, too!
