A lot of planning went into our ceremony. We knew we wanted a gospel centered message, original vows, live music, and an officiant that knew us well. However, our main concern was just that we felt God's presence that day, and that our wedding glorified him.
I cannot believe how these things fell together in the months before the wedding. We were a little concerned about achieving this things, especially since we had just moved to the state and did not know many people. In the first few months of living here, we attended our now church and met Kylee and Garrett. Garrett is an AWESOME musician, and we just knew we HAD to hire to him to the ceremony music (even though we had known him oh... two weeks at the time). CHECK. After attending the church for some time, we started to grow in relationship with our pastor. We approached him about the possibility of him officiating our ceremony. Since we are a church plant and still fairly new, he had told us he hadn't officiated many weddings. He also told us that he was picky about who he would marry. This concerned us a little, but we knew that if things kept going as well as they were at the church, it would work out. Sure enough, him and his wife have become some of our dearest friends. He did our premarital counseling and sat down with us to plan the entire ceremony and gospel centered message. CHECK and CHECK. And of course it took us a while, but we DID in fact write our own vows (I will be sharing these soon!). CHECK.
Seriously, God just saw that everything fell into place so perfectly. We will eventually have video to share with you all, but for today I just wanted to share some of my favorite photos from our ceremony.
