Sponsor Spotlight: Kendra

Hello Sage readers. Thank you for spending these few moments of your day reading about me! My names if Kendra but most people call me Kenj or Kenji. I write over at Kenji is Here. You can find a variety of posts but I can guarantee that everything I say is honest and true. Feel free to stop by for coffee anytime. The pot is always on!

Tell us a little about your blog.
My blog is all over the place. When I try to contain it, it just ends up going off in its own direction anyway. Any day you can find posts about faith, family, college, or my life with Rheumatoid Arthritis. I am a young 20-something living with Rheumatoid Arthritis and I think it's important to document the hills and valleys. One day it will be about a battle with RA and the next will be about school, or my faith, or something completely unrelated. I don't limit my blog to specific categories. I like to share the things I do and the lessons I learn.

Why do you write what you do?
My main focus is to raise awareness for Rheumatoid Arthritis. It is a very misunderstood disease that is debilitating. I started this blog when I was first diagnosed in May of this year. I wanted to spread the word because I had never heard of Rheumatoid Arthritis before being diagnosed. I wanted to share how my life has been altered from this disease but not cut off. I still live a somewhat normal life (whatever that means) and I wanted to share with of people suffering from RA that it is okay and we can all get through this together.

Who are some bloggers that inspire you, and why?
This is a tough question, Cassie! SOO many. Let's start with you, the owner of the blog Sage. I admire your faith and your attitude. I love coming to your blog and seeing your declarations of faith and of course your marriage. I admire all you do!

Emily at Ember Grey. This girl is amazing. Let's just start with that. I love her writing style and all that she speaks to. She is always posting about her funny conversations with her husband or her adventures with her girlfriends. I mean what other blog can you go to and see them dip cookie dough Ore's in wine...yes you read that right! I'm constantly wanting to come back to her blog to read more.

Rebecca at Adventures of Bug and Boo. This pretty lady is someone who is writing I am always looking forward to reading. She always shares stories about her time living abroad in London, meeting the love of her life, having her daughter, Bug and another on on the way, Microbug. Rebecca always has me laughing and she seems like just the person I would want to sit down and have coffee with!

There are so many more...like a ton, I could be here all day!

What does an ideal Saturday look like to you?
I've put much thought into this. I would wake up around 7:30 and go to the gym for 8. I would be able to take my time there due to no plans. I would leisurely make my way home stopping for Starbucks on the way (it's right next to the gym..I know.. torture). After getting washed up and ready I would go to this specific local coffee shop (cafe tempo...soooo good)with my mom and get the sandwiches that we love and head to the park to sit on a blanket and eat lunch. We would spend our day sitting there people watching and talking about life lessons. After a while we would head home and I would change outfits to head out with my girlfriends for a night out at the bar. We would meet somewhere downtown and walk around from bar to bar. One drink at a time. We would laugh and make memories to last a lifetime. Before getting too tipsy I would head home and snuggle in with my Poopsy for a good nights sleep.

  3. Love this girl...thankful for the way she shares RA and the lessons she's learned from it. I think her perspective on life is pretty mature since being diagnosed, and I'm grateful for that. Plus she is someone I know I'd love to have coffee and convos with . :)
