1. THE SCENERY. I'm not sure anyone can argue with this one. I mean just LOOK at that photo. Sedona has some of the most amazing red rocks I have ever seen. The Sedona Marathon
runs right through some of them! And the people watching is on a whole new level. It's without a doubt one of my favorite places in the world.
2. THE ALTITUDE. There's nothing like training in the altitude. I used to live 25 minutes North of Sedona in Flagstaff and training for a few years at 7,000 feet scored me a number of PR's! Sedona isn't at as high of an altitude but it's still enough to boost your training!
3. THE HIKING. Sedona has the most amazing hiking. Be sure to check out Oak Creek Canyon, West Fork, and Devil's Bridge. Pro tip: skip Slide Rock. I'm full of suggestions if you'd like more!
5. THE PRICKLY PEAR MARGARITAS. Trust me. As if Sedona wasn't already peaceful enough, add a margarita and you'll be on a whole new level. (If beer is more up your alley check out Oak Creek Brewery and try a Nut Brown Ale!) And if you need some recovery post-race, definitely get a massage at one of the spas in town!
