AMPLA FLY Review

Disclaimer: I received a pair of the AMPLA FLY running shoes to review as part of being a BibRave Pro. Learn more about becoming a BibRave Pro (ambassador), and check out BibRave.com to review find and write race reviews!

These AMPLA FLY shoes are really unique. They have a carbon fiber plate that attaches to a carbon fiber sole to create a "flip sole." This shoe is really helpful for heel strikers (ME!) and provides immediate feedback on your running form. I have definitely found it to be corrective for me, and my runs have been a lot more comfortable. I made the mistake of not wearing high enough socks the first time I wore them, which resulted in pretty rough rubbing. After switching to the proper socks, though, I have had no problem and really love these shoes.

Ampla recommends these shoes as training shoes designed for spadework or shorter runs, but notes that they can be used for longer runs if you're comfortable enough in them. I have used mine up to 5 miles and thought they worked really well.

Ampla is currently designing two new styles that are coming before the end of the year. These include:
AMPLA Cushion which are not full on maximalist, but a great long distance shoe.
AMPLA Light which are super lightweight, quick shoes that won’t have the carbon fiber plate but will have some other technology to help you push forward.

I'm working on getting you all a discount code, so keep checking back if you think you might be interested in these shoes!
